Una anciana de 26 años

Hace unos días se dio a conocer en Vietnam el extraño caso de Nguyen Thi Puong, una joven de 26 años que y que tenía el aspecto de una anciana de 70.
Según la afectada, la cual es alérgica al marisco, puede ser debido a una grave intoxicación que sufrió en el 2008. Durante más de un mes la vietnamita se automedicó recurriendo a la medicina tradicional y tras el uso de todos estos remedios descubrió que tenía la piel más flácida y arrugada y aparentaba muchos más años.
Debido a su pobre situación económica no pudo acudir a un médico y durante años llevó una máscara que ocultaba su rostro cada vez que salía a la calle.
Actualmente, médicos de todo el mundo buscan un remedio a este insólito caso de envejecimiento prematuro. Algunos expertos aseguran que se trata de lipodistrofia, un síndrome patológico sin cura conocida que apenas padecen 2000 personas en todo el mundo y que se caracteriza por la ausencia focal o general de tejido adiposo, lo cual podría estar provocandole el veloz envejecimiento.
De todas maneras, la enfermedad no ha afectado al ciclo menstrual, pelo, vista o capacidad mental de Nguyen por tanto sigue siendo una joven que quiere vivir la vida. Su gran apoyo es su marido, del que dijo: “Todavía me ama como antes a pesar de que me ve vieja y fea. Con él, me siento más segura para vivir y trabajar. ”
Esta mujer es todo un ejemplo de que no hay que arrugarse ante las adversidades.
