Tres hermanas sufren el síndrome del hombre lobo

Savita, Monisha y Savitri Sangli son tres hermanas que viven en un pueblo cerca de Pune, en la India. Todas ellas sufren desde que nacieron hipertricosis, también conocido como síndrome del lobo.
Se trata de una mutación genética que provoca que las células encargadas del crecimiento del pelo se sitúen por todo el cuerpo y nazca vello desmesuradamente en todas partes.

Este síndrome lo heredaron de su padre, el cual falleció hace poco. Su madre, Anita, explica que se tuvo que casar obligada a los 12 años ya que los padres de ambos habían hecho un trato y en India en aquella época si eras mujer y te negabas a casarte te mataban. "Me sentí horrorizada la primera vez que le vi" cuenta.

Las 3 chicas intentan hacer vida normal dentro de lo que su enfermedad les permite. Debido a ella han sufrido frecuentes burlas en el instituto y piensan que el matrimonio nunca será una opción para ellas.

La familia de las jóvenes, muy humilde, no puede costearse las operaciones que necesitan debido a su alto precio (5.300 euros por cada una). Por el momento utilizan crema depilatoria diariamente aunque no les sirve de mucho ya que el crecimiento del vello es muy rápido.

Sneh Gupta, un productor de documentales, esta planeando hacer uno sobre sus vidas para intentar conseguir dinero para las operaciones y hacer que cumplan sus sueños.
